The University of South Carolina track and field programs are hosting two clinics to finish out the 2022 year. An officials clinic in conjunction with USATF SC is Dec. 11. The coaches clinic is Nov. 18-19. Details are below for each clinic.

Lawrence Johnson
Johnson led Dalilah Muhammad to a 400-meter hurdles World Championships gold medal in Doha, where she clocked 52.16 to break her own world record of 52.20
In addition he coached Olympic 100H Medalist Brianna Rollins. Johnson currently coaches many of the World's best track and field athletes in the Hurdles and 400m.
Stephen Francis
The famed sprint coach of Jamaica's powerhouse sprint program MVP. Francis currently coaches 200-meter World Champion Sherika Jackson.
Francis also has coached Jamaica's Sprint sensations Elaine Thompson, Shelly Ann Fraser-Price as well as multiple time medalist Asafa Powell.

USC/USATF SC New Officials Clinic
Sunday, December 11, 2022: 12-6 p.m. at the USC Indoor Track Facility
1401 Whaley St, Columbia, SC 29205
This is a FREE Clinic that will provide attendees with basic knowledge of how to officiate track and field events as well as a review of the steps required to become a USATF Certified Official. Clinic Schedule:
- 11:30 a.m. - Noon: Check-in
- Noon - 1 p.m.: Intro and T&F Officiating Overview
- 1 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.: Practical Session (hands-on)
- 3:30 p.m. - 6 p.m.: Rules Review (open book)
